An Israeli woman was killed and dozens of others were injured in three barrages of Iranian missiles that were fired from Iran towards Israel on Friday evening and early Saturday morning, , in what the Revolutionary Guards said was retaliation for Israel’s Operation Rising Lion against Iranian military officials and nuclear facilities.

The woman was killed in the first barrage, which began at around 9:00 p.m. local time. Sirens were sounded across Israel, from the Galilee in the north to Be’er Sheva in the south, sending millions to shelter.

IDF Spokesperson Effie Defrin said that less than 100 missiles were fired towards Israel from Iran in the first barrage and that the majority of them were intercepted.

An Israeli official said the US assisted Israel with the interceptions.

Explosions were heard in central Israel in the first barrage, as a building was directly hit by a missile. Footage from the scene showed extensive damage to the building.

Fire and Rescue Services said that fire and rescue teams handled two major incidents in the Gush Dan area.

In one location, firefighters operated at a scene of structural destruction between several buildings. In a second incident in Gush Dan, firefighters responded to a heavily damaged high-rise building. Extensive destruction was reported at the site.

Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that 41 people were injured in the various areas, including two in critical condition, two in moderate condition, four in light-to-moderate condition and 33 in light condition or suffering from anxiety.

The injured people were evacuated to Beilinson, Ichilov and Sheba Hospitals. One woman subsequently died of her wounds.

In northern Israel, a projectile fragment struck a residential building and a brush fire was caused by falling debris from missile fire.

Another Iranian missile barrage occurred early Saturday morning, shortly after 1:00 a.m., after the IDF detected missile launches from Iran towards Israel. Once again, sirens were sounded from northern to southern Israel.

Residents reported hearing explosions. Initial reports indicate a missile fell in Gush Dan in central Israel.

Fire and Rescue services said seven people were lightly injured and one was moderately injured and evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in the barrage on central Israel.

Magen David Adom (MDA) said one of its Mobile Intensive Care Units was hit by shrapnel in the Tel Aviv area. Two female crew members, who were wearing protective gear, sustained minor injuries from glass shards. They were treated at the scene and did not require evacuation to hospital.

The IDF said that dozens of missiles were launched from Iran toward the State of Israel. Some of the missiles were intercepted.

“Search and Rescue forces are currently operating in a number of locations across the country in which reports of fallen projectiles were received. We request that the public continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command,” it added.

The IDF called on civilians not to publish and share the locations and footage of hits. “The enemy monitors this footage to improve its impact capabilities. Be responsible – Do not share locations online!” it stated.
